Sailing voyage Z08-25: Sailing along Northern Brittany

Z08-25: Sailing Trip – Brittany & the Channel Islands

Where Nature and Tides Set the Course

Discover one of Europe’s most spectacular sailing regions: Brittany. With its dramatic tidal range, ever-changing coastal landscapes, and timeless charm, this area offers a truly unique sailing experience. Add in pleasant summer weather, fascinating rock formations, flower-filled islands, and atmospheric French harbors – and you’ve got the ingredients for an unforgettable voyage.

Our journey begins on Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands. We start with a long sailing day across to the rugged Breton coast, arriving in the early evening. As the sun sets, we sail up the scenic estuary to Lézardrieux, a peaceful little marina nestled in a river valley.

The next morning begins with fresh croissants from the local bakery before we set a short course to the fairytale-like Île de Bréhat. This car-free island is a true garden paradise, where palm trees and exotic plants thrive thanks to the warm Gulf Stream. We anchor in a quiet bay and go ashore for a beautiful walk around the island.

Sailing in Brittany is pure adventure: with tidal ranges up to 12 meters, the scenery transforms by the hour, and strong currents demand precise navigation. This is where the tide chart rules the clock – and where sailing becomes a dance with nature. It’s a gem many overlook, but those who’ve joined us often say it’s more beautiful than they ever imagined.

We’ll visit charming medieval harbor towns like Paimpol and Tréguier, each with inviting cafés and vibrant local markets. Following the meandering estuaries – known here as Abers – we continue our coastal hop down to the picturesque fishing village of Camaret-sur-Mer, passing the dramatic Cape Finistère. Camaret offers a broad sandy beach, colorful waterfront houses, and a haunting ship graveyard of old wooden fishing boats.

Finally, we arrive in the port city of Brest, where we celebrate the end of our journey with a cozy dinner ashore – and toast to a voyage filled with nature, tides, French flair, and great sailing.

The daily sailing distances are between 8 and 40 miles.
The above schedule is subject to weather, wind and tide.

Waarom zou u voor ons kiezen?

FAMILIEBEDRIJF
